a queue of people in a car park waiting to get in to Sainsbury's

We have arrived online

What’s Going On?

Only a few weeks ago, we were wondering: what was going to happen, why were the children still in school, were we going to have to be really fierce with our elderly parents about staying at home, could we get in our cars and drive to the open countryside for a walk? And if we had to stay at home, how would we get our shopping or prescriptions? So many questions – things we have never had to consider before.

Lampeter women get stuff done

So, rather unsurprisingly, because Lampeter does have a real sense of community, a group of women with a range of skills and life experience got together to see what they could do to help.

Facebook

So we started a Facebook group, which you can find right here.  Once you’ve joined the group, you can find or share information and offers of help.

Other methods of contact

We have also set up an email address so that people can contact us. That’s at lampetercvsg@gmail.com. For anyone that can’t (or doesn’t want to) do anything online, our landline number is 01570 423107 and for mobile / text: 07799 884835. These numbers belong to group admins, so please do not abuse t3hem. We intend to set up a dedicated line as soon as we can.

Gathering information

We set up two databases, one for volunteers and one for people requesting help – these two link together. A second one is for shops or businesses which are offering home delivery services, voluntary services and so on. After distributing posters with QR codes and bit.ly links for these, we realised that it would be so much easier to have a website. So all those forms are now right here on our website.  We set up two databases, one for volunteers and one for people requesting help – these two link together. A second one is for shops or businesses which are offering home delivery services, voluntary services and so on. After distributing posters with QR codes and bit.ly links for these, we realised that it would be so much easier to have a website. Now what?

This website will operate in two ways: finding and sharing information about ways we can help each other and sharing your stories, news, recipes, and so on. Have you made a lockdown video? Send us a link: lampetercvsg@gmail.com. Do you have some good recipes to share – how to make the most of tins and packets? Send us your recipes and a picture of what you’ve made to lampetercvsg@gmail.com Have you seen interesting news items that you’d like us to feature? Send us a link: lampetercvsg@gmail.com.
